A WHOLE NEW CLASS OF MERCEDES

Some say Mercedes is in a class by itself -- which makes the 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class particularly complex, since it's hard to say what automotive class it inhabits in the first place. Wagon? Minivan? SUV? Actually, the 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class combines elements of all three, prompting the company to describe it as a "grand sports touring" vehicle.
All of which means you need to decide for yourself, and luckily we've got the photos, specs and reviews to aid you in your decision. Not to mention pricing info and financing advice too. Happy judging!

2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

The exterior appearance of the 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class is designed to mimic Mercedes’ coupes and sedans. It features a rounded, squat rear end and a fairly long overall profile.

There are options for two different types of sunroofs, one with a standard glass panel and one with a larger, panoramic unit with a glass panel that measures five feet and seven inches. With the panoramic option, the panel moves in such a way that the passengers’ head room is not affective. In addition, roller blinds within the sunroof keep passengers safe from the sun.

Privacy glass and a single-lift tailgate come standard in the 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class. It also comes with completely independent suspension, which uses double wishbone suspensions in the front. In the back, the 2007 R-Class features a four-link set up. Also standard is a load-leveling rear air suspension. With this, the driver can choose between three different modes of operation: Normal, Comfort, or Sport.

The 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class features spacious seating for up to six people, thanks to three rows of seats. There is ample space between each set of seats – there is thirty four inches between the first and second rows, and thirty between the second and third rows.

In addition, 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class has seats in the third row that can be folded down in order to provide more room for storage purposes. The seats feature leather and the doors, dashboard, and center console feature maple wood trim. The second row of seats has both cup holders and larger space for bottles in the door pockets.

The steering wheel is multifunctional with aluminium accents and it features an electronic gear selector, which is mounted straight onto the steering column. The instrument panel is located on the upper section of the dashboard.

The radio, which comes standard, also comes with weather band reception. There is also a place for optional satellite radio. There are also options for an MP3 player and flat-screen monitors for those in the backseats.
